A SOHO RESTAURANT WITH A STORY

Nessa takes its name (and its soul) from Vanessa Bell, the pioneering artist, designer, and central figure of the Bloomsbury Group. Known affectionately by friends as “Nessa,” Bell was a woman ahead of her time: bold, curious, and unapologetically independent, her life and work defied convention.

The Bloomsbury Group, an influential collective of artists, writers, and thinkers, gathered in homes and studios that became salons of cultural exchange. Ideas flowed as freely as the wine, and creativity was a shared pursuit. It’s this spirit of collaboration, openness, and artful living that lives on at Nessa.

More than just a name, Nessa is a tribute to that fearless creativity. From the walls to the menus, every detail nods to the modern bohemia that once flourished just a few streets away. In the kitchen, Executive Chef Tom Cenci channels that same spirit; his dishes are expressive, led by seasonal British produce and full of character. The Nessa Express, classic British dishes, crafted with care, served in 60 minutes. Two courses £22, three courses £27. Lunchtime, done well.

This New Year’s Eve, we’re dialing up the glamour and rewinding to the golden days of Soho. Nessa Salon of the Unruly returns with a 70s-inspired bash – a nod to Biba’s most decadent days. Expect a little drama, lots of sparkle and a little bit of mischief.

We’re serving a celebratory three-course dinner, with an option to dial things up with indulgent add-ons, think champagne, caviar, oysters and succulent steaks to supplement for those feeling extra. Enjoy a live set by British band Rio and the Sterling – soulful, dancefloor-ready, and full of feel good energy while the bar serves up cocktails with a nod to the era. Whether you’re an early diner or planning to ring in midnight with us, the vibe is set: chic, playful, and thoroughly decadent. Raise a glass to the 70s, Nessa style!
